Noon and Meem Mushaddad

This is a very simple Tajweed rule that only uses two letters. If a noon or a meem has shaddah then it will pronounce a 2 beat ghunnah (lenght)

ثُمَّ = Summma

إِنَّ = Innna

Al –Qalqalah Letters Rule

Definition

Qalqala means Shake and turn over the voice.

When any of the letters is pronounce with sukoon or shaddah (Qaaf, Ttaa, Baa, Jiim, or Daal).

Rule
  • If any 5 of the letters contain Sukoon, Jazam then we will shake and vibrate its sound.
  • If we stop the word containing these 5 letters then it can produce vibration and shake its sound.
  • If any of these 5 letters contain between of any word then it will produce Qalqalah
  •  In these all steps, we can produce the sound and vibration known as al-Qalqalah.

Noon saakinah and Tanween Rules

Noon Saakinah is define as noon with a Sukoon and without a Haraka. Tanween is the noon Saakinah which is pronounce at the end of the nouns. It is the noon Saakinah and it is present without noon. It is also called do-zabar, do-zair, do-paish. 

There are 4 rules of Noon Saakinah and tanween

  • Izhaar
  • Iqlaab
  • Ikhfa
  • Idghaam
Izhaar

If any of Haroof e Khalqi Letters comes after Noon sakinah or Tanween, then there will be an Izhaar.

  • There is no Ghunnah
  • Show the Sound of Noon
Iqlaab

If word “Baa” comes after Noon sakinah and tanween then there will be Iqlaab. They will change the sound of Noon to meem.

  • Ghunnah is necessary
  • Its sign is Small meem over the word
Ikhfa

Ikhfa means to hide the sound or hide the Ghunnah.

If there are any letters other than “Baa”, Haroof e Yarmaloon ( Yaa, Raa, Meem, Laam, Waao, Noon) and Haroof e khalqi (Hamza, Haa, aiien, Haa, ghain, Khaww) , then their will be Ikhfaa or hide the ghunnah.

Meem Saakinah Rules

Meem Saakin is the meem with Sukoon sign or without any Harakah.

Idghaam Shafawi

Combining a Mutaharrik Meem (Shaad at Meem) with a Saakin Meem and then adding afterward two Ghunnah beats.

  • Apply Ghunnah Forcefully
  • Shadd at meem is necessary
Izhaar Shafawi

Clear Meem Saakinah with full lip contact when it is come after by any letter other than Baa and Meem.

  •  There will be no Ghunnah
Ikhfaa Shafawi

Connecting meem by the Baa when the lips are not contact accurately with the two beats of Ghunnah.

  • Apply Ghunnah of one Alif with gentleness
  • Shadd is not necessary

 Al-Madd Rules

Al-Madd is called as long depending on the situation. It can consist of two to six beats to lengthen the Madd letters. There are many types of Madd letters.

Madd Letters (Haroof e Maddah)

Huroof maddiyyah contains a letter that includes a haraka before it.

There are 3 types of (Madd letters) Haroof e Maddah. So mention them as follows

  • Waao Madd: Kasra (Zair) comes before Yaa Saakinah.
  •  Yaa Madd: Dhammah (Paish) comes before Waaw Saakinah.
  • Alif Madd: Fathah (zabr) comes before alif saakinah.
leen letters (Haroof e leen)

The first one is known as the leen letters. A Fathah letter comes before these letters. They include Waaw Saakinah and Yaa Saakinah.

There are 2 types of Leen letters (Haroof e Leen)

  • Waao Leen
  • Yaa Leen
